Custom Hand Made Knives Maker: Michael Wall
My name is Michael Wall and I am a passionate knife maker residing in Central Florida. I enjoy all aspects of making custom knifes by hand. I do all the work on these knives including grinding, heat treat, finishing, leather work and scrimshaw. Ever since I was young I have been fascinated with metals. I have made a living in the metals industries including welding, welding engineering, welding instructor, welding inspector, welding applications engineer, engineering manager, and project manager. Every knife I make I try my very best to make the perfect knife. This is not my living but rather my passion. One might ask what is the connection between a Florida knife maker and Sandown, NH. Well, I lived for many years in Sandown, NH and enjoyed my time there very much. I met my wonderful wife as a young kid 40 years ago on the shores of Angle pond, a wonderful time and place long ago.
I chose the name Sandown Forge as a result of my love of Sandown and forging. Although I am not forging knives now but only using stock removal methods in constructing the knives offered I do hope to be forging soon. It has been a long time since I gave up forging due to unfortunate circumstances but hope to be offering forged knives in addition to stock removal constructed knives soon.
